Cottam Will Trust Grant for Sir John Tavener Memorial

We are thrilled to share that Angela’s planned sculpture honouring the late Sir John Tavener has been awarded funding by the Cottam Will Trust.

Established under the will of Father Samuel Elsworth Cottam, who died in 1943 and operated by The Friends from 1977, the Trust exists to give grants towards: “the purchase, for the advancement of religion, of objects of beauty to be placed in ancient Gothic churches either in England or Wales.”

The modern stone, glass, and metal sculpture will be unveiled in a ceremony in Winchester Cathedral on the 11th of November 2016. This project is very close to Angela’s emotions and she is touched that it is receiving recognition and support from so many, including this very generous aid from the Cottam Will Trust, via Friends of Friendless Churches.
